Palazzo Margherita, built in 1892 in Bernalda, a small hilltop town near the Ionian sea in the Basilicata region of Southern Italy , was purchased in 2004 by Francis Ford Coppola. His dream was to transform this decayed villa into a small, luxurious hotel! The palazzo has been completely restored by Francis Coppola and French interior designer Jacques Grange, the decorator of Yves Saint Laurent's apartment in Morocco. 'He is an imaginative decorator and arbiter of chic, and i thought he would capture the bohemian splendour that my own children would love to live in and be anxious to return to.' says Francis. Grange, bewitched on his first visit by the magical charm of the untouched palazzo, immediately knew he had to awaken a sleeping beauty...
